Everybody loves this piece. The model appears to be bedding down, ready to go to sleep. I just so happened to have this piece of sheet music while I was drawing her, and it worked out beautifully.

Voodooville

This is a painting from a series of paintings called “All Around Paintings.” You can hang them from any side. The subject of the painting is my friend Katie Fitch. She would come down to Denver from Laramie, where she was going to school, and I would visit her, she would take me to the rock formations called Vedavu, which I kept calling Voodooville. Hence, the title of the piece.
